The "hook" in a song is that line, word, or phrase, that you cannot get out of your mind once you hear it. Is is repeated in the tune several times in hopes that it will sink deep into the memory of the listener and drive home the message the writer is trying to convey. It is the heart of the tune and all other language is there to support that "hook." The "hook" is normally the Title of the song.

Well, the purpose of this site is to allow anyone with a good "hook" to post it so that songwriters from around the world might consider it as a launching pad for their next writing project.
